You want to view your credit report, but you don’t want to wait six weeks to get it in the mail. What do you do? Go online and get an instant credit report, of course. It is very simple to do, and for those of us that hate to wait for anything, it’s the perfect solution.

To get your instant credit report, log onto www.annualcreditreport.com. This site allows you to view your credit report from all three major credit reporting agencies; TransUnion, Equifax and Experian. After answering a few simple questions about yourself and verifying your identity, there you have it–your instant credit report.

You can also go to each company’s website and request an instant credit report. If you use a search engine with the key words instant credit report, be careful of the companies that say you can receive your credit report instantly by using their services free for thirty days. These companies are credit monitoring companies and offer free credit monitoring for thirty days. After the thirty days is up, they charge you a monthly fee to continue with their services.

If you choose to go through a credit monitoring service to receive your instant credit report and you do not want to continue with their services, be sure to notify them a few days before your free trial is up. This allows them to note your account so you will not be billed.

The law requires that you receive one free credit report from each credit reporting agency every year and this can include the instant credit reports you receive online. Be sure to print out a copy of each instant credit report from each reporting agency and store them in a safe place for future reference.

With a new law that went into effect in 2005 allowing an individual to receive a free credit report once a year from all three credit reporting agencies, many people are wondering how to get them. These free government credit reports are available by written request or online.

To receive a free government credit report in the mail, simply send a written request to each one of the three major credit reporting agencies. These agencies are Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Once the agencies receive your written request, they will mail a copy of the report to the address that you specify in your request. Total turn around time to receive these reports is normally about six weeks.

Another option that you have to receive your free government credit report is by going online. Once online you can use a search engine such as google and type in the key words free government credit report. This search will bring up many sites. Most of the sites will offer you the free government credit report with your acceptance to try their credit monitoring services free for one month. Once that month is up they charge a monthly fee to continue monitoring your credit report. If you choose to receive your credit report through one of these companies and do not wish to continue their services, be sure to cancel the services before the thirty day trial period is up.

You can also go to www.annualcreditreport.com to receive your free government credit report. After you have entered some personal information and verified your identity, this website allows you to view your free government credit report from all three agencies. Just simply check the agencies you want to view your report with and it will show you to them one at a time. It is a good idea to check your free government credit report with all three agencies because they can, and almost always do, contain different information.

If you are viewing your free government credit report online, be sure to print a copy of each report and put them in a safe place for future reference.

As of July 2005, you can now receive a free annual credit report from each of the three credit reporting agencies. Due to increased threats of identity theft, the new law was passed to help consumers protect themselves by allowing them to view their credit report once a year. In the past, consumers had to pay a small fee to receive copies of their credit report, and many people felt it was too much of a hassle.

It is a good idea to view your free annual credit report to check for things such as credit cards being reported that you may not of received or changes in your address that may show someone is impersonating you and having things sent to a different address. Your free annual credit report will show you revolving accounts, loan accounts, defaults on accounts and judgments that may have been taken out against you. It will also show you who has done a credit check on you recently and your employment and address history.

The new legislation allows you to receive a free annual credit report from all three major credit reporting agencies. These agencies are Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. To receive your free annual credit report, mail them a written request to supply you with this report. You can find the addresses for these credit reporting agencies by going online and using a search engine such google.

Another way to receive your free annual credit report is by logging onto www.annualcreditreport.com. This site allows you to receive your free annual credit report from all three credit reporting agencies. Supply the personal information they ask for and check all three reporting agencies. In a matter of minutes, you will have your credit report right there in front of you.

If you are viewing your free annual credit report online, make sure to print one out from each agency. If you find any discrepancies make note of them and of which agency it is with and then contact them immediately.

By taking advantage of this legislation that allows you to receive a free annual credit report, you are given assurance that, even if someone does try to steal your identity, you will be able to catch it quickly and put a stop to it before it costs you thousands of dollars to restore your good name.

You’ve heard of the new law that lets you receive your credit report from each of the credit reporting agencies free of charge once a year, and now you want to receive yours but aren’t sure how to do it. Should you send a written request or go online, you wonder? Both of those options are available to you and which one you use will be determined by how quick you want to receive it.

Let’s say that you want to get a TransUnion credit report. TransUnion is one of the three major credit reporting agencies that allow you to get your credit report free of charge. To receive a copy of your TransUnion credit report you can do one of two things; you can send a written request to TransUnion asking them to send you the free annual copy of your credit report and wait around 6 weeks from the time they receive your letter to actually get it in the mail. The other option for getting your TransUnion credit report is by going online.

Once you’re online, you can go to the TransUnion website, which should tell you how to request your TransUnion credit report online. Another option that you have is to go to www.annualcreditreport.com. This website will allow you to view your TransUnion credit report and also your credit report from Experian and Equifax. Simply supply them some information, verify that information for them, and in minutes you will be looking at your credit report.

Another option for receiving your TransUnion credit report is to go to a credit mentoring company online and request it. These companies allow you to review your credit report for up to thirty days free of charge, while monitoring your credit report and letting you know of any changes. The catch to these companies is that after thirty days, they start charging you a monthly fee to monitor your credit.

Remember, if you receive your TransUnion Credit Report online, or a report from any other company, you need to print a copy of it out and store it in a safe place for future reference.

With all the hype of identity theft people are becoming more and more concerned about what may be in their credit report. With the internet, it is now possible to find out with just the push of a few buttons. There are many ways to get a free online credit report. You could go to a credit monitoring sight, or the sight that is specifically set up for you to receive the free annual credit report the government says you are entitled to.

To receive your free online credit report from a credit monitoring service, simply “google” the key words free credit report and google will come up with thousands of results. Most credit monitoring companies offer to let you view your credit report online free for 30 days, then they charge you a monthly fee to “monitor” your report, emailing you when there are any changes. This is good if you want to keep an eye on what is happening. If you choose not to use the service, just contact them within the 30 day limit to cancel the service, being sure to allow them enough time before they start the billing.

Another way to receive your free online credit report is by visiting www.annualcreditreport.com. This site will allow you to view your report from all three of the major credit reporting agencies; Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. Each one will ask you to verify some personal information and then let you view your free online credit report. This service is available to you once a year.

Once you have viewed your free online credit report, make sure that you print a copy of each one out, noting the discrepancies and which agencies they are with. If there are discrepancies in your free online credit report, be sure to contact the credit reporting agency immediately to dispute the information.
